Charter Loses Video Subscribers and Ups Its Internet Speed
Charter Communications is the number two cable Internet company in the United States. Recently, overnight, they boosted Internet speeds for many Charter Spectrum high speed Internet customers. That's right, many people woke up with faster Internet.
You can't argue that fast Internet is the way of the future so Charter Communications has increased its Internet speeds across the country. As they further roll out the DOCSIS 3.1, Charter’s Spectrum Internet Gig speeds are being offered to more and more homes. As a result Charter customers are finding that Internet speeds of 1 Gbps are available to almost 23 million homes in the Charter Communications footprint. Places like Dallas, Los Angels and Milwaukee are all getting faster Internet. Before the end of the year Charter Communications plans to roll out Spectrum Internet Gig to pretty much all of the forty-one states in their service area.
Currently, Charter Spectrum Internet Gig is available to about half of all Charter customers but 100 Mbps speed is available to almost 99% of their users.
The company has added over 360,000 Charter high speed Internet customers last quarter. Unfortunately for Charter, their cable video subscriber count dropped by more than 110,000 customers for the first quarter of 2018.
